Cairo
My pick of Cairo’s museum tours, covering the salmon-pink original on Tahrir Square and the new Grand Egyptian Museum near the pyramids. A working Egyptologist earns their keep here; the collections run to tens of thousands of pieces and the older galleries barely label them. Plan on two to three hours before your eyes glaze.
