I’ve listed the pre-booked transfers I trust from Heraklion and Chania airports, because a taxi queue at midnight is a grim start to a holiday. Plenty of resorts sit an hour or more from the terminal; Elounda is a good 75 minutes from Heraklion. A booked driver tracks your flight and waits if it slips.
