Each geothermal park around Rotorua has its own personality, so I’ve sorted them by what actually differs: geysers, colour and walking time. Pohutu at Te Puia is the southern hemisphere’s largest active geyser and goes off roughly every hour. Wai-O-Tapu brings the colour; Waimangu is an entire valley created by the 1886 Tarawera eruption.
